Hi I'm Angela

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother of five children. I previously had a career in corporate finance at a large technology company, but I have decided to be a full-time mom at this time. My time is spent now helping my children develop their talents, learn to work hard, and serve others. When I have time for me, I love to compete in triathlons and running events. I also make time to read, play the piano and spend time with my husband and friends. Finding fun activities for our family to participate in is also a passion of mine. We enjoy camping, skiing and doing day trips. Our children are learning to love to hike and ride bikes as a family as well. I'm happiest when I concentrate on finding joy where I am in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family where my parents were Mormon. But I found out in my teens that I needed to know for myself. The things I had learned from my parents and church teachers made sense to me and felt right. But at about age 14 I read the Book of Mormon. I prayed to know if it was true and had an overwhelming feeling that it was. Ever since that time, I have tried to get my own confirmation that each doctrine I was taught was true. Living the teachings of the church has brought me incredible happiness. It has kept me safe at times, and saved me from heartbreak. Since I was young, I have had a sense of who I was, and what my purpose was. In my teens and early adulthood, I never felt lost. That gift is priceless in my life. When I was 21 I served a mission in South America for my church. It was a profound experience to observe and participate in people learning about the gospel, and to see their lives change. As I dedicated my life to sharing my beliefs I felt happier than I ever have, and became more convinced that the teachings I was sharing, fulfill all lives. In addition, as I have studied the Bible and the life of Christ, I find that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the same church that Christ established on the earth. There are apostles, prophets and missionaries on the earth today. The authority of God and gift of the Holy Ghost are present as well. It is comforting to know that Jesus Christ and God the Father have provided all of the help to their children today that they provided in ancient times. And this makes sense to me.

How I live my faith

Today I live my faith in private ways and also in my community. Privately I pray and study the scriptures daily. I try to serve others in my family and community. I try to make sure that I am not too busy in my life that I cannot help or comfort others when they need it. I know I'm not even close to being perfect, but I'm trying to follow Christ's example. In my church community I am the leader of our youth group, for girls ages 12-18. I try to make sure there are weekly lessons that build them up and give them the strength have faith and integrity in this challenging world. I plan mid-week activities that teach the girls skills, build their faith and give them opportunities to serve others. I am inspired by the strength of the youth today. I also am a committed volunteer at the elementary and middle schools in our area.
