Hi I'm Amy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Amy. I love to run and be outside. I work as an event planner and love traveling. I recently got married to the man of my dreams. I love being with him and sharing our life together. We are training for a marathon together in Austria. We will celebrate our first anniversary there in October. I love all the seasons, but most of all love a warm summer rain. Fresh flowers are one of my favorite parts of spring and summer. Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love making treats with my husband and then making deliveries to our neighbors, friends and family. Being with either of our families is something that we both love. I graduated in Business Management from Southern Virginia University. I loved living in Virginia and love the green trees and beautiful fall leaves. I lived in Bolivia for a year and a half while serving as a missionary for the Church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in what is taught. I have felt peace many times in my life and know that it comes through a Heavenly Father who loves each of us as His children. I know that he sent His son, Jesus Christ to atone for our sins and I am so grateful for the chance to repent of sins and live with them again. I believe that through the Gospel, families can be together forever. Because I have recently been married, this truth has brought on a whole new meaning. I am so grateful that I can be with my husband forever. My life has meaning and I feel a peace knowing that there is a greater plan. It is easy to get frustrated or feel discouraged in our world at times, but I know that when I rely on the teaching of the Church, I can feel hope and peace, even joy for what lies ahead.

How I live my faith

My husband and I teach the 8 and 9 years old kids in Sunday School. We enjoy being with them and seeing the light that each of them brings to class. Teaching the simple lessons at Church helps me strengthen my beliefs and confirms what I know to be true. Every month we also get to visit different families and share a message with them. It has been so fun to get to know other families that go to our church. There are always activities available for the women in the church. Almost every month there is an activity that we can participate in during the week. We have done different things from cooking classes, making blankets for the children's hospital, making crafts, to learning how to fashionably dress our body type and exercise classes. It is a great time to get to know other women at Church, besides seeing them on Sundays. Most of all, I love seeing members of the church in the community. Even just running into them at the store is fun. There is an instant bond just knowing you have the same beliefs.
