Hi I'm Krista

I grew up in Northern California, but now call Colorado home. I am a wife and mother of 4. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Northern California as the oldest of 7 children. I left California to pursue my degree in Elementary Education and then returned to California to teach 4th and 5th grades. It was during this time that I started dating and then married my husband. We left California within a year of getting married so that he could pursue an MBA in Ohio. His job has since taken us to Puerto Rico for 2 years and to Colorado where we currently live. I am first and foremost a wife and mom. My husband and I have been married for almost 12 years and we have 4 children who range in age from 2 to 10. I now spend time volunteering in 2 of my children's classrooms, homeschooling a 3rd child, teaching sewing lessons, crafting, reading, and driving my kids to all of their activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have asked my Heavenly Father in prayer and received the answer that Jesus Christ is the Savior and that this is the true church. I am a Mormon because I have felt the Spirit witness to me that it is through the truths taught in this Gospel that I can return to live with my Heavenly Father and be with my family forever. The truths that I have learned as I attend church and read the scriptures have helped me to face life's many trials and to be able to focus on what things are truly important in life. I am far from perfect, but I have learned that I don't need to be. I have to do my best to follow my Savior and then repent when I mess up and then work on doing better. I'm a Mormon because I know that the values taught are ones that I want my children to learn and live by. Because I am a Mormon I have a different perspective on who I am and who my children are and that makes me a better mother and person than I would be without it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live as the Savior would have me live and to make decisions that would make him proud. I volunteer in my children's schools and at church. In church I have held many positions which have enabled me to serve those around me. I have worked with the youth, the children, and been a teacher at different times. Each of these roles has allowed me to serve those around me and to increase my own abilities and faith. I have volunteered in my children's schools on PTO boards and in their classrooms.
