Hi I'm Daniel

I was born in Idaho, started ballroom dancing at the age of 12, now I teach dance to kids in Arizona, and yes, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Rexburg, ID. I started ballroom dancing when I was 12 years old. I spent most of my spare time as a teenager in a dance studio practicing. If I wasn't there, I was usually at home sleeping. I was blessed with the opportunity to see much of the world because of competition. I was able to experience life outside of Idaho. Now days, I teach ballroom at a local studio in a smaller town in AZ. I am married, with two awesome children. I am a dance education major in college. My plan is to teach dance on the high school level someday. I work as a cook, and I make some crazy awesome home-made chocolates on the side! I like being a cook, mostly because I seem to have a knack for it. But I love to dance and hope to share that talent with as many people as possible throughout my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS Church. It has always been a part of my life. As I was growing up, we were expected to go to church every Sunday, and I am so grateful for that example. I have had my fair share of dark times, when I was led astray from the Church, but through prayer and repentance, I have not wandered too far off. After being married to my beautiful wife, there was no question as to how I would live the rest of my life. I will always do what I can to follow God's will. I am not perfect in any way, but through the atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ, I know that this wonderful test we call life will help us to become such. I know that God lives, and that he loves me and all of His children here on Earth. He wants the best for us. I believe in Christ. I am forever grateful for His atonement. Through His sacrifice, we are able to repent so that we may become clean and pure from the sins of the world. I know that Joseph Smith was chosen and ordained by God to bring God's only true church back to the Earth in these days. I know that every prophet since Joseph Smith was also ordained of God to lead His Church, and I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet of God who lives today. God is real. He knows me, just like He knows all of His children. He loves me, and I love Him. I have no doubt that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true Church of God.

How I live my faith

Where I work, it is unusual to come by another Mormon, and typical conversation in a kitchen is not quite appropriate. I have made it a point not to participate in these conversations, and I feel that because of my example, these conversations have become less frequent. I also feel that many people are grateful for this as well. I do not try to tell people that they are wrong, but I try to do what is right, and hope that through my example, others will follow. I love serving others, although service has never been my strong point in life. But I am working on helping others around me so that I may develop and strengthen this attribute in my life. Service can be anything. It can be as simple as providing a smile or a kind word in tough situations. It can also be more, like helping someone take care of yard work if they are unable to. I love attending church on Sunday. It is the perfect way to start the week!
