Hi I'm Shaylene

I'm a Mormon. I'm a 4th generation Arizonan. I've been happily married for 22 years and have 2 amazing children.

About Me

I have been happily married to wonderful husband, Chad, for 22 years. We have 2 amazing children. I have been a homemaker for the last 19 years. I enjoy do-it-yourself projects indoors and out--from replacing kitchen sinks to landscaping a yard from scratch. I love the satifaction that comes from ripping things out and creating something new and better in its place. I enjoy playing games with my family and having barbeques with my best friend next door neighbors.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a Mormon although I have not always been converted. I've always known the peace that the gospel of Jesus Christ has brought me but it wasn't until great struggles came in my life that I was truly converted. Through those struggles I came to know the Savior personally. I came to have a burning testimony that the words written in the Book of Mormon are true and that they were written for us, in our day, to help and strengthen us. I love being a Mormon. I love the truths and answers that are there for me. It is simple. It is for everyone. I am so grateful to have it.

How I live my faith

I have the privilage of working with the youth ages 12-18 in my church. I specifically work with the young women ages 12 and 13. Each week on Sunday I get to share my testimony with them as I teach specific lessons about the gospel. I also get to spend each Tuesday with them participating in various activities that range from sports to fashion shows and making silly "gospel commercials". I volunteer my time to do this because I love the Savior. If I can in some small way help these youth gain a better relationship with Him it would be worth all the time in the world.
