Hi I'm Liz

I love to play the drums. I am a wife and a mommy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play my drums. I am married. I am a mommy to 3 kiddos. One has Autism. I like going to the gym. I like junk food waaaaay too much. I like alternative music. I like the things I learn at church on Sundays, they help remind me of the importance of trying to be like Christ. I enjoy teaching my children the stories from The Scriptures and doing my best to answer their questions. I had a career in Human Resources, I enjoyed that experience greatly. I left it to be a stay at home mom. I love taking photographs. I like to skateboard. I changed my religion from Lutheran to Mormon when I was a young adult because I know it is the most complete church on earth.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I knew when I learned about it that it was the way I needed to raise my one-day family. When I started reading The Book of Mormon things started making sense in my life. All the scriptures seemed to be more clear to me and I felt (after a really stubborn and hard heart) The Holy Spirit guide me to this church and help me to know it's where I need to be focused with religion. It provides me with a blueprint for life. It offers specific ways on how to follow The Savior and how to be more like Him. My religion is complete, it is mirrored after the organization of The Church when Christ was on earth. I know it is lead by a Heavenly Father that loves us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying every day to be my very best. I am not perfect. Some days I could try harder. On days I am trying hard it might look like this: kindness when extra patience is needed with my children, bringing a meal to someone having a hard time in my ward or neighborhood, praying morning/ at night alone and with my family, teaching my children the scripture stories while we eat dinner (they are still so little it's the only time they are all sitting still!). I have lived in a few states and have had several different opportunities to serve others with church callings. My favorite was when I lived in Brooklyn and worked with the Bishop's Store House to fill orders and deliver food to people in the ward that could not afford it. It was humbling to say the least. It was inspiring to see how the program was designed and operated. I have never felt more fulfilled on a Saturday as I did those Saturdays in Brooklyn bringing people food.
