Hi I'm Liza

I live in Western Washington. I homeschool my 5 children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music . I play the piano and the organ and I am a vocalist. I am a Mom of 5 children. I am currently finishing a Bachelor's Degree Online that I started 8 years ago on campus. I homeschool my kids. I want to make a difference in the world and I know a powerful way to do that will be in how I raise the next generation. I am a homemaker. I support a good, honest, hardworking man who provides for me so that I can stay home and raise our children in love. I am the CFO of our family. I do the taxes, keep the budget, pay the bills, and sit happy when we have more money at the end of our month instead of more month at the end of our money. I love to learn from books. Some of my all time favorite books since I have become a mother/wife are "Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey, "Homeschooling and Loving it" by Rebecca Kochenderfer, and "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" by Steven R. Covey. Some of my lifetime goals are...to go back to school and obtain a Masters Degree, write a book, sing in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, learn a second language, learn to play the cello, own a horse, and own a home. I consider myself one of the most blessed people in the world because my life brings me true Joy and I have the freedom to live it the way I choose.

Why I am a Mormon

Because of my membership in this church over the last 26 years of my life I have be blessed to come to know God. Not just know about Him but to truly know Him. I have grown up listening to His chosen prophet speak. I have grown up reading all of His standard works including the Bible, the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants. I have been blessed to receive saving ordinances performed by one who holds God's Priesthood and the proper authority to use that priesthood. And I have had the privilage to enter God's temples and enjoy a greater abundance of his spirit and ordinances and power there. All of these things combined have led me to a sure knowledge of who God is. I can say today as a bold and true statement that God lives. Jesus is the Christ. The Holy Ghost testifies to my heart that these statements are true. This is Christ's Church. I Joy in my membership because I have truth and light and peace.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday I play selected hymns on the organ while the congregation sings. I love to feel the reverence that my music can bring to our meetings. I also teach the young women. I help them understand the gospel of Christ as it is taught in the Scriptures and by the living Prophet. I like to help out wherever help is needed if I can. On occasion I will help to lead songs for the young children. Or whatever they ask me to help with. I visit with grown women within our congregation as well to make sure they are well cared for and fellowshiped. If I get the opportunity I help to clean the church building or the Temple as a volunteer.

What is faith?

Liza
As an Apostle of Jesus Christ said once, Faith is 3 fold; 1. Absolute confidence in things you cannot see, coupled with, 2. Action, that is in accordance with, 3. God's will and timing. So in other words Faith is acting on something we feel instead of something we see or hear because we believe it is right, and doing so not on our own time or in our own way, but in God's way and in His time.
