Hi I'm Yvette

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona. I am a proud mother of 4. I love to laugh and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother of 4, ages 13- 4 I enjoy reading, repurposing clothing and furniture, crafting, blogging, running, road biking and sprint triathlons.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because I grew up in the church, but my own conversion to the gospel of Jesus Christ came in my 20's. When I was 18 I went away to a small junior college in Eastern Arizona. Since it was my first time being away from my parents I thought it would be great if for once in my life I didn't have to go to church on Sunday. I spent the next 3 or 4 months not going to church. After a while I was miserable. I was unsure why I was so unhappy. I finally figured out that I missed that special feeling I got from knowing Heavenly Father is my friend and loves me. I knew that I was the one that had removed myself from him. Several times in my life when I've had hard things happen to me, I knew my Heavenly Father was there. One instance was when my mom died within 3 1/2 months of being diagnosed with cancer. My mom was my best friend and confidant. I wasn't sure I could go on, but with the help of Heavenly Father and Jesus I knew I could. I feel so blessed by being a mormon. Being a mormon gives me confidence in who I am, because I know that I am a daughter of God. It helps me to know that everyone on the earth are truly his children. It shapes the way I treat people on the street, it helps me parent my own children. Daily my goals are to do better and sometimes I fall short but I think the most important thing is to keep trying.

How I live my faith

Right now I work in a capacity where I help young women age 12-13 develop self-confidence and strengthen their testimony of the gospel. Before this I spent many years teaching the gospel as a missionary and teaching children about the gospel. It gives me joy to teach people the gospel because everyone can benefit from studying the life of Jesus Christ.
