Hi I'm Laura

I'm a stay-at-home mom, I love to learn, I'm creative and excited about life; I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Although my college training was in the field of Speech and Language Pathology (Speech Therapist) I have chosen to use my training to teach my two little boys as a stay-at-home mom. I'm lucky to have that opportunity. I spend most of my time with my husband and boys, largely outdoors doing things that include lots of energy usage! My interests vary from week to week- because I love learning new things. I have recently enjoyed learning more about photography, cooking, gardening, family history research, decorating and history!

Why I am a Mormon

What if there was one church that embodied full truth? What if there was one answer to who God is, and why we're on earth, and what will happen to us when we die? What if it was possible to keep our families together past death and even forever? I am a Mormon because answers to hard questions are found in our gospel that cannot be found anywhere else. The teachings of our church, centered on Christ and his atonement, are found in the scriptures, and when we have doubts and concerns, we are encouraged to seek guidance from the source of truth- our Father in Heaven. I grew up in the LDS church and though I didn't have one conversion moment, I have had hundreds of experiences where I have felt deeply in my heart that what I have been taught and continue to learn through our religion is the truth. I enjoy a happiness and peace about life and the purpose of being here that many I meet do not share. And finally, one reason I am Mormon is because through promises made in our temples, I can be with my husband and 2 sons forever, and that means everything to me.

How I live my faith

At our local church, I am currently in charge of many things music-related. I am an organist, I sing music with the children, and I direct our choir. Music is one way that I am able to share how I feel about Jesus Christ and his teachings. I enjoy looking for ways to help people in our community and I spend time teaching my children about our beliefs.
