Hi I'm Jarren

I grew up in Utah. I love video games. I'm an artist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've always been interested in computers, particularly user interfaces and how software works. I grew up playing the Violin and now I also play the Guitar. I love rock music and I try to listen to all types of it. I'm going to school to become an audio engineer. I hope to one day be involved in helping create the music I love. I enjoy painting as a hobby, particularly acrylic paint on canvas. I love going to art museums with my wife. I love modern art and I love abstract art. I love video games, I play Halo Reach at least once a week if not more. My wife and I play Civilization 5 together. I love to see how video games are designed, and to experience their story and game mechanics. I'll play any game just to see what it's like.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up Mormon. My parents took me to church from the time I was a baby. When I was young I liked the ideas the church was teaching me, but I mostly went because all of my friends were there too. I have stayed Mormon because it brings me joy to try and live the things I learn at church. I feel like I'm progressing by going to church and working towards living with God again, who I believe is my Heavenly Father and wants me to return to him with my family. Being a Mormon fulfills me in a way that video games, art, and music cannot.

How I live my faith

On Sundays in the church there is a one hour class called Sunday School. I help organize and administer these classes so that they run smoothly. This is my calling, or what I have been asked to do. Sometimes I get a chance to teach these classes if the normal teachers are unable to come, and I love teaching them.
