Hi I'm Connie

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Tacoma, Washington as a Roman Catholic and became a Mormon almost 6 years ago.

About Me

I'm a mother of four grown children, grandmother of 8. I love trout fishing with my husband, watching the Seattle Mariners play baseball, and spending time with my grandchildren. As the head seamstress and Costume Designer for many years for the local Ballet, I still do design, sewing and alterations part-time. I enjoy investing in the stock market and follow the political and financial news avidly. I love doing missionary work for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as my membership in the Church has brought me so much joy that I simply MUST share it! I want everyone to be as happy as I am!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born, raised and educated as a Catholic, attending Catholic schools from elementary through college. I had a strong faith in God, was active in religious education at church, but questioned some things about the Catholic church enough to study the doctrine of many other religions, seeking only to find truth. I found the truth I was seeking finally, when I spoke with the missionaries and read the Book of Mormon. Questions I had carried in my mind for many years were answered as I read the Book of Mormon and I knew it was true as the Holy Spirit testified of its truth to me. I was scared to change religions but once I knew the truth, I couldn't do anything else! It was the best decision of my life! The Lord has totally blessed me for my decision to be baptized and has given me joy in my life and peace in my soul and transformed my life in a thousand wonderful ways.

How I live my faith

I consider my fellow "brothers and sisters" in the Ward to be family. I love them and pray for them, and serve them in many ways. I teach a lesson in the Women's group monthly as well as serve as an Advancement Chairperson in the Boy Scouts of America. I always worry about the sisters in the ward who don't or can't drive so I take them grocery shopping or to the Dr. when they need a ride. I just love to assist the missionaries in our Ward by helping teach prospective new members, and give them rides to church if they need it. I look at it as a chance to make a new friend and I want them to be happy like I am and like anyone can be when they follow Jesus Christ and truly give their lives to him. I also love to sing in the choir with my husband and we attend an adult college-level weekly scripture study also.
