Hi I'm Jackie

I'm a teacher, an analyst, a friend, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've done so many things and have lived in some interesting places. I served in the Navy and lived in Iceland, Newfoundland, Hawaii, Washington D.C. and Maryland. I've also taught in the public school system and was a swim coach for many years. My current work is as a contractor for the Navy.

Why I am a Mormon

I wanted to be closer to God and to know that He knew me personally and would listen to and answer my prayers. My parents and previous church had taught me how to pray, but I wanted to "know" that those prayers were being heard. I wanted to feel closer to God. When I read the Book of Mormon, I felt such a peaceful and sweet spirit. As I read, I felt closer to God than I ever thought possible. I received personal counsel and comfort and knew that I had finally found that closeness I had desired. As long as I earnestly strive to live God's commandments, and study all of the scriptures he has provided (the Bible, Book of Mormon, and more), I continue to enjoy a sweet and wonderful relationship with my Father in Heaven and with His Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Life's challenges haven't gone away, but I understand the reason for the challenges and know that I can always turn to my Father in Heaven for whatever support and guidance I need. This church, the fellowship of its members, my responsibilities as a member, my ever growing understanding of the gospel and so much more have made life so so sweet!

How I live my faith

I currently serve in the church as a visiting teacher, assigned to teach and take care of other ladies in the church. I'm a Family History Consultant, which means I help anyone who needs help with genealogy. I also serve as a ward missionary, helping the missionaries teach and fellowship people interested in the church or who have recently joined the church. Because I'm so grateful to have found this wonderful church, I suppose you could say that I "live my faith" by sharing it with others. I will talk about the church until I'm blue in the face, if allowed, because I want others to have the opportunity to find what I've found. Everyone needs to know that we all have a Father in Heaven who knows and loves each of us intimately, and that his son Jesus Christ suffered, died and was resurrected because of that love; Father's love for each of us. Knowing of them, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and knowing that I can communicate with Father through prayer and receive answers to my prayers.......well, I just have to share that with everyone!
