Hi I'm Lee

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised on a cattle ranch in the mountains of Colorado. I loved that work but because of the cold weather for nine months of the year I decided to do something else. I graduated from college with a degree in education and Spanish. I spent almost three years in the country of Chile and then taught Spanish for thirty-five years. During the summer months I worked as the driver of a large truck hauling furniture. At the end of the school year I was so tired of students that I looked forward to loading and hauling furniture all over the western part of the United States. At the end of the summer I was so tired of not being home and lifting furniture that I was looking forward to being with the students. I have a hobby of photography and also love listening to music especially country/western. When I retired from teaching I spent three years living in Mexico. I love that country and the people there. I now enjoy living near my children and grandchildren and having time to spend with them.

Why I am a Mormon

While attending high school I was able to take religion classes where we studied the teaching of the prophets in the Old and New Testaments and also the Book of Mormon. By studying the teachings of the prophets before the time of Christ I realized how much they talked of and prophesied of the coming of the Messiah. I also realized how much the teachings of Christ in the New Testament and his teaching to the people on the American continent were the same. I then had a great desire to share the things I had learned and the Spirit I felt as I studied. I served as a missionary and the more I served the more peace I felt and the greater desire I had to live what I was teaching. During my adult life I have continued studying and teaching about our Savior and His mission. I now know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and knows me personally. I also know that He sent His Son to Atone for my sins and that I will be forgiven of them if I will repent, ask His forgiveness and not repeat those things I have done wrong. I have also learned that Heavenly Father is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He gave the people in the times of the Old Testament Prophets to help them overcome the problems they faced. I know He also gave the people in then New Testament times Prophets and Apostles. I want you to know that He loves us and He is helping us with the modern problems by giving us modern Prophets and Apostles today. For these reasons I Am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I know that a person should never teach something he is not willing to do himself. I know that we serve our Heavenly Father by serving His children. We are all His children. I have served in my community on governing boards and on committees formed to help those who need help, both physically, mentally, and spiritually. I believe we should be willing to help others without thoughts of rewards. I served a mission for almost three years in a foreign country at my own expense. I have served as a leader in the Church almost my whole life and have never been paid for any of that service. I have accepted assignments to visit members of the Church in their homes as a home teacher to teach and help them. I have also taught the young people in seminary classes before school and have felt of the great strength of these young people in their desire to be of service to others. I have served as a leader of more than three hundred young missionaries in a foreign country and know that these future leaders of the Church are some of the finest
