Hi I'm Jeffrey Crane

Hi, I'm Jeff. I began my life a member of the Catholic Church. As a teenager I made a decision that changed my life.

About Me

When I was a young man, I was fortunate to have some great friends who happened to be members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS). As a teenager, I made the decision to join the LDS Church. The influence and positive examples of those friends helped me make that critical choice. That decision at the age of 15 has shaped my life for good. I live in Gilbert, AZ. I am the father of four beautiful girls, and two very energetic boys. Most importantly, I am married to the love of my life. We have had many opportunities to grow and mature. Our third daughter came to us with a genetic abnormality called Down Syndrome. This little girl has been a wonderful gift in my life particularly. She teaches her daddy every day how to love more, smile more, and enjoy the simple wonders around me. I enjoy building, boating off the coast of Southern California where I grew up, strolling down the pier with my wife, and coaching my children in sports.

Why I am a Mormon

I felt close to my Heavenly Father even as a young boy. I can remember feeling he loved me and was nearby. When I joined the LDS church as a teenager, I knew it was the right decision, because I felt it stronger than anything else up to that point in my life. I felt like I was home. I just knew it was where I needed to be.

How I live my faith

When I was 19, I accepted an invitation to serve as a full-time missionary for the LDS church in Mexico. I was the first missionary from my family to ever have served in that capacity. Since returning from Mexico, I have had the opportunity to continue serving in my local congregation both in California and Arizona. I've worked with the young children, youth, and my peers in the congregations where I have lived. The opportunity to serve my friends and even strangers has allowed me to learn what I feel has been a valuable lesson; when I am helping and serving others, I feel good. Christ spent his life in the service of others, I am thankful for his example and try daily to be an example of his teachings to my wife and children.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Jeffrey Crane
For me this has been a very personal journey. I have learned that to feel close to my Heavenly Father I need to do a few basic things on a consistent basis. These include praying regularly, serving people I know and those I don't, reading from the Bible, Book of Mormon, and other uplifting books. When my relationship with Heavenly Father is at the forefront of all I do, my relationship with my wife and five children is closer, more full of love, patience, and fun. I love my Heavenly Father and thank him daily for all I have, especially the opportunities to learn and become a better man. Show more Show less
