About Me

This can be difficult. I have always been one to follow if it had not been for the people in my life I feel that I wouldn't know what to do. Things always happen for a reason and our Father in Heaven is always watching over us. I knew this at a very early age and I still hold on to it. I left home the day after I graduated from high school. I was hit by a car, my school friend family took me in for the next 1 1/2. yrs. While my friends husband was sent to Viet Nam I was introduced to my future husband. At the time I didn't know it, we wrote for 6 mo. he proposed after 3. We did get married when he returned from the war, we were married for almost 41 yrs. It was he that helped me on the path to know what was true when it came to religion. I had always wondered why things happened the way they did then I was enlightened when I started investigating different religions they all had something I was looking for but it wasn't complete. I can be difficult to say the least when it comes to my choices in life so far they have been mostly good ones.

Why I am a Mormon

In 1972 my husband and I met the Mormons while in Augsburg, Germany, when my husband was in the Army. We didn't know what a Mormon was...my husband met a soldier in his unit and was introduced to the Book of Mormon. Because my husband was a history buff and wanted to know about the American Indians (where did they come from) he was hooked after the first two pages. After reading half the book by the following day we needed answers to his questions and that was the beginning of a new life. We not only got answers about our american Indians but another group of people. The best part tho was getting to know more of our Savior Jesus Christ. We had our first daughter at that time and we wanted the right thing for her whether to get her baptized or not at this young age. Our many questions where answered on this subject. My husband was convinced everything that was said was true the book of Mormon was another testament of Jesus Christ I did too but couldn't commit to it what would my family back home would do or say, I would be disowned for sure. It was after I gained my testimony that we joined the church. It wasn't up to my family for my salvation or my husbands but it was up to me.

How I live my faith

I'm a Primary Sunday School teacher, a Visiting Teacher for the women's group, and a Family History Worker. I am an active Relief Society member. I live to be of service for my family, church family , neighbors and anyone else that needs my assistance. I have been given much I would like to pass it on while I still can.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is correctly translated. If it weren't for the Bible we wouldn't have anything to base the Book of Mormon on, another Testament of Jesus Christ. It was amazing after studying the different religions and the Bible with each one it was easy to have gained that testimony that the Book of Mormon was true. And if that was true by all means the Prophet Joseph Smith was a true Prophet that translated that book. Show more Show less
