Hi I'm Marian

I love people. I am a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. My life has purpose. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a daughter, a sister and a friend. I love people of all shapes and sizes! I love to cook new recipes, sew, read, spend time with my family and have a houseful of noise and fun! I love music- I play the piano, sing, play a few instruments. As a family we thoroughly enjoy the time we get together and makes music with all of our instruments! I believe every family needs to find something they enjoy doing together- and do it. I have been married to my best friend for 27 years. Because of my knowledge of Jesus Christ and his love for me I have felt the importance of sharing that love with my family and strengthening each other through teaching, playing and praying together.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in a Mormon family. I had loving parents who taught us right from wrong. I had parents who loved me and so it was an easy concept for me to understand that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me too. When I was a teenager their came a time of questioning what I had been taught. As I took time to read scriptures and pray, those answers came very quietly to my mind and heart. One day that will be forever written in my soul happened when I was about 13 years old. My home was quiet and I was alone. We lived out in the country and I was a little nervous to be alone in the evening. So I sat down to the piano and played and sang some church hymns. As I played through a dozen songs, the Holy Ghost witnessed to my soul the truth of the words of each song.... words like, "I am a child of God", "I know that my Redeemer lives", "Choose the right when a choice is placed before you". Since that long ago day, my faith has been strengthened through each trial and joy as I have practiced doing those things that matter most that bring be closer to my Savior. The beauty of the gospel of Jesus Christ is that we can each repent and do better. I believe in a loving Heavenly Father who loves me and strengthens me and has a plan for me and my family.

How I live my faith

To me, service to others is how I live my faith. I love helping others. I enjoy being a part of my children's lives. So I am always volunteering to help out at school events where they participate. I help out with the uniforms for our local High School choirs. I enjoy the interaction with great young people who are involved in doing good things. Listening, laughing with them and encouraing them is important to me. I have the opportunity to work with 120 women at church. They each inspire me to be better as I witness their stuggles, their triumphs, their strength through health problems and child rearing. I love to see how these good women's lives are strengthened by someone else serving and helping them and as they reach out to help others. I can always find someone who needs kindness. My life is always blessed when I reach out to serve someone else. The most important thing I can do is within the walls of my own home. It is important for me to have a meal ready each morning and night so we can sit down together, pray together, listen to each other's concerns and triumphs. As I serve them daily, our relatioships are strengthened. We are each other's "cheering section" through this life! My family is the most important thing I have. Because of my knowledge of our Heavenly Father's plan, I know that we can be with each other forever.
