Hi I'm Christy

I am a stay at home mom and I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom who loves to play games and learn new things. I love crafts and anything to do with hands on creating. I like making new friends. I like going to church and sharing with others.

Why I am a Mormon

As a child I was faced with many trials that led to a foster home where I found the church. I admired how family oriented everyone was and how happy they seemed to be. The gospel has given me a foundation and direction in my life that I would not have otherwise obtained. At my baptism my brother informed me that my mother who passed away when I was three years old had been a member of the church. My father joined the church recently. The confidence that comes from the gospel allows me to go through hard times in life and know that there is a plan for me and my family. I am so blessed to know the answers to many of life's questions. The knowledge of the truth is ingrained in who I am. I have a family that loves me and I want to be with them forever in God's presence.

How I live my faith

I am the person in the church that organizes the women of the church into pairs that visit others on a monthly basis. I have acquired many of my closest friends over the years through this program we call visiting teaching. Whether it was someone who I was paired with or a person I visited, most have become very dear friends of mine. In the past I taught 7 year olds about Jesus Christ and his Gospel. It was amazing how smart and loving these children were. I also led the 8 year old Wolf den leader for the Cub Scouts.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Christy
The same way we come to know anyone. Ask questions. As we pray to our Father in Heaven his responses to our questions about him will come in many different forms. At first the Holy Ghost will send his assurance to your mind and heart that you are correct in addressing the Father in prayer. You will likely have the desire to pursue knowledge from man's interaction with God as recorded in Holy Scripture. The knowledge gained from the prophets writings will further cause a desire to seek His guidance from modern day messengers of God. Doing good things to others brings about in us God's love and comfort. The follow on question is how do we become like our Heavenly Father. It is my experience that one becomes what they know.
