Hi I'm Sam

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and a father. I like to exercise, hike, travel, and spend time with my family. I work for an airline so we get to travel quite a bit and the kids have really become good travelers. In the past I was able to hike the Inca trail to Machu Picchu, travel to Spain, Italy, and England, and put in a lot of time on a mountain bike. Now I spend a lot more of my time at a desk, but I enjoy riding road bikes with my wife and swimming, reading , and playing games with our children.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into a Mormon Family, I have made a personal choice to remain a member of the church. My choice is based on a personal knowledge that this is truely the church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. This knowledge is not based on anyone else's beliefs rather it stems from a personal testimony gained through scripture study, prayer, and confirmation of this truth through the spirit of God.

How I live my faith

I am an active participant in the Higley Groves ward of the church. I have taught classes, worked with the youth and am currently serving as the Executive Secretary to the bishop of the ward. At home, my wife and I hold a weekly family time called Family Home Evening to talk to our kids about gospel principles, discuss family items, or simply enjoy time together playing a game or going out for ice cream. We also read the scriptures with our children each night and pray together as a family in the morning before school and prior to bedtime. I know that these activities have had a great impact on our family, and the spirit in our home. We're far from perfect but I feel like any challenge can be overcome as we grow closer together and try to live more in line the the example of Jesus Christ.
