Hi I'm Jeff

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Arizona and am an engineer. My wife and I have 5 children and love the gospel.

About Me

My name is Jeff. My wife and I have been married for 25 years and have 5 wonderful children. I own a civil engineering firm and enjoy building things. I love the outdoors and love to participate in outdoor activities with my family. We love to ski, swim, moutainbike, go camping and all kinds of sporting activities. My family is the most important thing in my life and we have been very blessed that our children are strong, productive, happy people. My wife and I have recently ventured into the realm of grandparent-hood and are loving it. What a blessing to watch our family grow and watch our children create their own families.

Why I am a Mormon

I am part of a family that has been mormon for generations. In a way, this has made it a little harder to develop my own belief in the church. Being raised a mormon, you take a lot of things for granted when you are growing up. As I reached my mid teenage years and realized that I would be old enough to serve a mission for the church, I decided I needed to find our for myself if the gospel, as taught in the mormon church, was true. I began to really study the scriptures, ponder the doctrine and pray about what I was learning. At the same time, I applied what I had always been taught, because the scriptures teach that "by their fruits ye shall know them". I found that as I lived what I had been taught, I was richly blessed. I also began to receive answers to my prayers. Nothing spectacular like seeing an angel, but a quiet feeling in my heart that the life I was living was right and that the gospel as taught in the church was true. This was the beginning of my own testimony. I served a mission and saw how the gospel and the Savior changed the lives of people. I began to understand that just beliveing was not enough, the Savior expected us to act as we believed and to follow his example. Over the years, my testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ as taught in the mormon church, has grown as I have experienced the tender mercies of the Lord in my life the the lives of others. I have had many experiences that absolutley testify to the reality of the Savior and our Heavenly Father and that they are real and want to be involved in our lives on a very personal level, if we will let them. I am a mormon because I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and that the mormon church teaches the gospel in it's fulness and that my life is fuller and richer because I have chosen to make the Savior a part of my life.

How I live my faith

My faith is my life. My father taught me that you should act the same way during the week that you act in church on sunday. I have tried to do this by being a good neighbor, being an honest businessman, trying to help others in need. I have been blessed during my life to have many opportunities to serve in the church. I have been priviledged to sit and watch how the Lord reaches down and lifts us during trials and difficulties. I have worked a lot with the youth of the church teaching lessons, going on campouts, high adventures, conferences, inteviews, service projects, and lots of weekly activites. Working with the young men and young women of the churh has been a great blessing. I have watched as they particpate in all the activities and through their participation develop a great love for the Savior and their Heavenly Father. I have spent many nights at the church helping individuals and couples try to understand what the Lord would have them do with their lives or how to work through different challenges. What a blessing to see the Lord reach down and touch the hearts of His children. Give them comfort and counsel. Being a mormon is not easey. It requires sacrafice and effort. However, through living my faith, i have found that as we sacrifice for the Lord, He always blesses us in greater ways than we could ever imagine. I have found that He loves us and is more than generous with His blessings if we just turn our lives over to Him and recognize that He know better than we do what we need.
