Hi I'm Bart

I've been an Air Force fighter pilot, airline pilot, engineer, & program manager. I love the outdoors & my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Most importantly I am a husband and father of six. I've been an Air Force fighter pilot, airline pilot, an engineer, and a program manager. I grew up in Utah, attended college in Colorado Springs, and currently live in Arizona. We have lived in New Mexico and Alaska and the Air Force has taken me to many other places around the world. I love the outdoors - camping, fishing, hunting, 4-wheeling. I also enjoy working on cars and around the house. My wife is a native of Arizona and we've been married for 24 wonderful years.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe in God and His Son, Jesus Christ. I am grateful for the knowledge of why we are here and where we will go after this life. I cherish the peace and comfort that comes from knowing that our family can be together forever. My greatest joy in life is spending time together as a family, whether that is date nights with my wife, family camping and fishing trips, ball games, plays, or simply dinner time together. The gospel of Jesus Christ has brought our family closer together and helps protect us from the worldly influences of the outside world. I know that Christ loves each of us and I have found comfort in His love during challenging times. I have also witnessed the change in the lives of others as they received a witness of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I believe that we are meant to be happy during this life and I've learned that true happiness can be found by following the example of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I strive to follow the example of Christ - loving others, comforting and helping others in their times of need, standing up for truth and righteouness, teaching the truths of the Gospel, and living my life as an example to my children and others. I also know that I am imperfect and fall far short of my expectations and those of my God. But I know that through the atonement of Jesus Christ I can be forgiven of my sins and failings and continue to learn and progress. I currently serve as the bishop of a ward in Arizona. I love working with the youth in our ward as well as the primary age (2-11) boys and girls and the adults that are called to serve in the various callings. The spiritual strength of our ward members and the love they have for each other amazes me, strengthens my testimony, and brings me great joy and comfort in our future and our children's future.
