Hi I'm Lori

I'm a baby-boomer woman with many roles. I love to spend time with family and friends, sing, work out, enjoy nature. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Originally from Ontario Canada, my family moved to the states when I was 8 years old. I had the great fortune of traveling across both USA and Canada to visit our loved ones. This created a great love of travel and getting to know people of all walks of live. I love to travel, meet new people and love to learn new things. I'm quite adventurous, I love music, the arts, the outdoors, staying fit and healthy and… love my new role as a “Grammy”. I’m passionate about empowering others to enjoy a life of great Vitality. My love of medicine / nursing began at the age of 10. After years of working in critical care cardiology, I went to grad school and became a Nurse Practitioner. My faith was a great blessing during those many years dealing with death and dying on a daily basis. To have an understanding of the eternities and that our families can be together forever, brought tremendous peace. After a pivotal event, I knew I had to devote the rest of my life to helping people enjoy Vitality. I met my dear husband Mark when I was 40. He was a widower with 3 teens (13, 17. 19). I left my clinic practice, sold my home, got married and moved to Atlanta. Now that… was an adventure. We are very happy and our family continues to grow – with married children and our first grandchild. Yippee! Wherever I have traveled or lived, I have always found great Christian friends and members of our faith to support in my many transitions. I am grateful to be a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the LDS church when they were expecting me, so I grew up with the teachings of our church. With that said, I am an active member of my faith today, because of the impact it has had in my own life. I continue to devote my life to living the principles of Christ’s gospel because it enriches my life …every day. Although my life has not been perfect, the knowledge that I am a daughter of God and that my Savior, Jesus Christ, atoned for my sins and my heartaches, brings me joy and peace beyond measure. It’s what gives purpose to my life. It’s what answers the questions and gives me an anchor to live by. Knowing that God still speaks to living prophets today, and that I in turn may have a close prayerful, personal relationship with Him, allows me to feel calm when the world seems to be crazy around me. I live my faith today because I’ve been personally converted over and over again! As I dedicate my life and strive every day to be closer to my Heavenly Father, he blesses me. I can feel the peace of the Holy Spirit guiding my choices. This gives me confidence and peace that is immeasurable. As I study the words of God through the Bible, The Book of Mormon and through his modern prophets and apostles, I know that he is so merciful and kind and… that he knows and loves me personally. I love how my family and I have been able to grow and develop as we participate and serve in the church. The programs of our church support us to grow closer together and to stay close to God. As I look around the heartache that is so prevalent in our world today, I know that God has inspired each of these programs so we may be able to experience tremendous joy! The gospel give me a compass to support me in every role of my life. I have lived a much better life because of my faith and devotion to this Gospel. My prayers have been answered, I’ve experienced great miracles and… have witnessed my family experience these things too. That… is priceless!

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day because is it supports everything in my life and… I want to be close to Heavenly Father- every day. I start my day with prayer and scripture study, to anchor myself for the day and… co-create with God what my day will look like. This keeps me focused on the things that will bring me lasting, even eternal, happiness. My husband and I serve weekly by teaching the scripture study class for our local young adults (ages 18-30). That enriches our lives tremendously! We have a weekly family night so we can devote time to scripture study together, have fun or do a family project together – all of which are designed to support us in being a great couple and family. Our Sunday is our Sabbath and it is filled with worship. We join our local saints in song and study of the Gospel. I have served in various positions to support the congregations I’ve been a member of. These have consisted of working in the young women’s organization, being president of our women’s organization, working with young girls, conducting our congregation’s choir and teaching classes. I also have the honor of singing in a choir, Chords of Faith, and bringing the message of Christ and his redeeming love to all who want to hear. In our faith we also get the amazing opportunity to serve other members in our congregation. We are assigned a partner, then a few woman that we befriend and watch over. It’s a special way, an inspired way, for us to take care of God’s sheep. We visit at least monthly, yet, over the years, these woman have been my best friends, as we serve together, share ups and downs of life together and watch each others families grow. I love it, because it’s a chance for me to serve God and be an angel to someone here, today. I can’t imagine my life without the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
