Hi I'm Doug

I live in Texas and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a lawyer who is married, I have two teenagers of my own and two adult step-children. I enjoy traveling and especially like snow skiing. I also like to go to movies, research my family history, and attend football games.

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't looking to join a church, but a few years ago I found myself feeling something missing in my life. I started attending different churches, but didn't find what I was looking for. I started attending the Church with my friends, as I had done for a brief time many years ago. After reading the Book of Mormon I prayed about whether or not it was really true. I received an answer immediately. It was the most intense spiritual feeling I have ever had and I knew that I had found the place where God wanted me to be. I continue to feel the Spirit in my life. It has given me much comfort these past few years and helped me to maintain my faith and continue on the path I have started.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is simply trying my best to have my inward feelings and my outward actions reflect what I believe—which is that I am here for the purpose of becoming like my Heavenly Father and my savior, Jesus Christ. While I know that I will not accomplish this during my mortal life, trying to love others as God loves them and trying to serve others as Christ did during his life are at the root of living my faith.
