Hi I'm Shannon Penrod

I live in Arizona, I'm a husband, father and grandfather of eight. I have run the Boston Marathon eight times, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy many different sports but mainly focus on running. I love going to the movies with my wife and grandkids. Life is wonderful being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Eternal families are the most important unit in the church. This church helps me to be a better person, husband, father and grandfather.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and come from a long ancestral line of Mormon’s from both my father and mothers side of the family. They were truly pioneers and great examples of people who loved Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ. Their strong faith and testimony of the restored gospel has been a great legacy and blessing handed down to me. From my youth, my testimony of Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ and his restored gospel in these the latter days has grown from me believing to knowing that it is true. I have received many blessing as I strive to live the gospel every day. This is the gospel of good news and the good news is this...HE LIVES! He lives who once was dead. We are all partakers of that great Atonement and resurrection. How grateful I am that imperfect people can be made perfect in Christ as we pray, and study the gospel to know how to conduct our lives and come to know and follow Christ.

How I live my faith

It's not easy in a world where distractions are abundant and temptations are numerous. The gospel has provided us as parents a guide to raising our children in a loving, positive, and productive way that no other method or system could ever match. We live our faith by serving others, laughing often, and applying the teachings of the gospel in our lives. What a blessing it is for me to be able to serve and work with others in the church. Each of us have many different challenges to overcome in life, but all have a common goal to live our best and to strive to be worthy to return back to our Heavenly Fathers presences as families when this life of mortality comes to an end. I testify to you, that the restored fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I hope and pray that you will have a sincere desire to seek to know this truth for yourself as I have done.
