Hi I'm Travis

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a newly married man that enjoys working on my house, spending time with my family, and reading. I was born and raised in Tempe, Arizona. I enjoy playing sports and watching college football. I went to BYU where I graduated with a degree in Finance and a minor in Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because of my Faith in Jesus Christ. I feel the Spirit when I attend Sunday worship meetings and while I study the scriptures. I read the Book of Mormon often and know that it along with the Bible is the word of God. As I continue to learn more about the doctrines and teachings of this church, my beliefs in it become stronger. The Holy Ghost has testified these things to me.

How I live my faith

I believe that one must live their faith at all times, no matter what the circumstance. I enjoy studying the Bible and Book of Mormon. I try to live by the words of St. Francis of Assisi, "Preach the Gospel always, and if necessary, use words." I think it is important to respect others beliefs. I also believe that serving others whether it be temporal needs or spiritual needs is one of the most important things we can do in this life.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Church members attending Sunday worship services dress with Sunday clothes. Men usually dress in a white dress shirt, slacks, and tie. Women typically wear dresses and skirts. If someone does not own such attire, it is perfectly fine to wear the best clothing you have. No one is to judge others on what they wear as the purpose of the Sunday services are to worship Our Father in Heaven and learn more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We celebrate many holidays. Some of my favorites are Christmas, Easter, my Birthday and Independence day. Church members in other countries around the world typically celebrate holidays that are specific to their regions and countries. Show more Show less
