Hi I'm Justin

I grew up in Arizona. I served a mission in Chicago. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Arizona. I grew up in the Church, and both of my parents have ancestors who were the early pioneers of the Church. I like photography (both the photo-taking side and the photoshopping side), telling jokes, singing in a very low voice, fixing things, and playing board games.

Why I am a Mormon

You may be wondering to yourself why the Church is so intent on recruiting new members. The Church doesn't boast its membership or anything-- in fact, I'm pretty sure it's not mentioned in this website anywhere. The clergy don't get paid. And it won't cast out its member if they don't pay tithing. Are we brainwashed perhaps? I would say no, because I'm encouraged at every turn to find out for myself if the Church and its teachings are true through scriptures the scriptures, praying for answers, and attending the services. I propose that the Church is seeking to find new members because it is true! And if it and everything it claims is true, it can bless the lives of its members. If it's true, that means that Jesus has a prophet that leads us, and we have new scripture to help us learn about how to be happy in this life and the next. The Church wants others to find this kind of happiness. For this reason I served as a missionary in the "Illinois Chicago Mission." Before leaving for Chicago, I was doubting whether what I was doing was the right thing. So one night I prayed really intensely and asked God if what I would preach was true. Is the Book of Mormon everything it claims to be? Was Joseph Smith really a prophet? While I was doing so I felt a strong sense of peace wash over me. I took this to be my answer from the Holy Spirit and have tried my best to remain faithful ever since.

How I live my faith

I go to church every week, study from the scriptures regularly, and pray daily. I try my best every day to follow Jesus' example.

What is faith?

Faith is a power that everyone has and uses every day. Faith is the hope that if you hit a light switch, then a light will turn on. In a Christian context, faith is a hope that Jesus died so we can be healed from the sins we've committed, and when we pray to God for forgiveness we can receive it. Sometimes you need a 'witness.' For instance, if a room is dark, someone might say "flip the switch on your right." When a light comes on, their faith in the switch leads to you having faith in the switch too! Scriptures and prophets serve as witnesses of Jesus Christ, helping us to know how to gain a relationship with Him. Show more Show less
