Hi I'm Jim Wright

I enjoy running, hiking, biking, camping and being with family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah. I have a family of nine kids, they are all awesome. Im interested in many things, running, biking, hiking, playing sports, camping and pretty much anything else outside. Im big in to running races. I have done many 5k runs and the Ragnar Relay. I have also biked from Seatle to Portland. Like I said I like to be out doors and have been all over the place to go to state and national parks. My brother and I are both interested in survival camping and skills. For the last few years we have been working on getting the skills to do a major out door trip.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the church. From the time that I was very small I have been taught the true gospel. I have always know this gospel to be true. I know that our savior lives, that he atoned for our sins and died on the cross, so we all could become as he is. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it was translated by his power. I know Joseph Smith to be a prophet. I know that he brought back to the Earth this gospel, and brought forth the Book of Mormon. I know Thomas S. Monson to be the Lord's prophet on the Earth today. He leads and guides the church through the power of God. I know that our Heaven Father wants all of his childern to return to live with him again some day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. I try and give as much as I can, because thats what the savior did. I show my faith by helping my friends and neighbors come closer to our Heavenly Father. I participate in the activities that the church holds. Right now im living my faith by serving a full time mission in the Houston Texas.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Jim Wright
When we are self-reliant we dont need to rely on others for everything. If there is one thing survival camping has taught me, is how to be self-reliant and to figure things out on my own. The thing is the world is changing, there are bad things out there and at anytime something could happen that would cut us of from the rest of the world. We talk about and practice emergency preparedness, so that when those times come we can take care of ourselves, our families and our neighbors. We just want to have that back up just in case something does happen that we need that support. Show more Show less
