Hi I'm Kirt Madsen

I'm a Mormon. I have lived in Denver for 41 years after getting out of the Army. After my first wife passed away I remarried.

About Me

I have been retired now for 11 years from the Federal Government. I have a BS degree in accounting and a MA in public administration. My wife and I travel a great deal and have enjoyed foreign travel and experiencing other cultures. We love dining out. We enjoy visiting with our neighbors and providing service whenever it is needed. I have enjoyed being a handyman around the home including home remodeling, auto repair, and yard work. My wife loves to bake, work with flowers, and read. We are currently getting involved with genealogical research and find it very interesting. As you can tell we are in our "Golden Years" and hope we have many more ahead.

Why I am a Mormon

My father was a convert to the Mormon Church and my mother was born into it. Thus, I was born into the Mormon Church. I love being a Mormon. Our faith and practices have helped me throughout my life. The family is central to the Church and raising a family within my Church has been a real blessing. Our beliefs give us much help and guidance in the role as parents. My family means a great deal to me and I am so thankful that my 4 children and their families are wonderful people and awesome citizens. Being a member of the Mormon Church has brought me much happiness and understanding of where I came from, why I am here on earth, and where I go after my death. I love the Lord Jesus Christ and am so greatful that we have a living prophet today that guides the Lord's Church.

How I live my faith

I try to be a good example to all those around me by living the commandments that Jesus and our Prophet have given to us. Most of my neighbors know that I am a Mormon and they have asked casual questions about our faith. As noted above I am serving as a genealogical consultant in my congregation and I also serve along with my wife in the Denver Temle located at University and County Line Road. In the past I have served in the ward/congregation leadership group, worked with scouting for 13 years, and served in several different areas of financial responsiblility.
