Hi I'm Don

I am a dad and a grandpa; I help teachers around the world to teach English and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My most important jobs are husband and father. We have 12 amazing children. I work with an awesome team teaching teachers around the world how to teach English. I love living and working in different countries and I serve as the bishop of my local congregation in the White Mountains of Arizona.

Why I am a Mormon

Through Jesus' infinite sacrifice, we can be filled with peace, comfort, confidence, love, faith, joy and fulfillment ALL the time--especially in the really hard times. The grace of Christ makes every aspect of our lives so much better. Little by little He changes us to become more and more like Him. The Church helps me stay connected to Him more often by giving me many opportunities to serve and to feel the guidance of His Spirit.

How I live my faith

I chose my current profession because I have the opportunity to really help people. Learning English opens so many doors. I most enjoy working with extremely poor people in third-world countries who would otherwise not have the chance to learn English. I love serving the members of my community. But more important than anything else, my faith helps me be the kind of husband and father I want to be.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Don
Through His atonement, Jesus conquered death. He conquered sin. He heals everything He touches—He heals our sicknesses, our marriages, our families, our lives. He helps us solve our challenges at work, at school and at home. He makes everything so much better. I am so impressed with followers of Christ who are filled with comfort, peace, confidence, power, love, hope, faith and joy ALL of the time. A few years ago, we lost our daughter and we came very close to losing my wife. A year later, I broke my back in a car accident. The more we turned to Christ, the more He was there for us. He makes everything so much better--especially the little day to day things. Show more Show less
