Hi I'm Symantha

I grew up in a small town in southern Arizona. I work in the ER at the local hospital. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy a number of different anime/manga, and occasionally write fanfiction stories about them. I also enjoy video games, although I don't have any of the newer consoles and mainly play older games on the PlayStation and Super Nintendo. I live by myself, with two dogs and two cats to keep me company. I have four sisters and two brothers, plus two step sisters and one step brother. My mother died when I was very young and my father remarried a woman who's not always the easiest person to get along with.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to LDS parents and was raised in the Church. I've honestly never gone to any other church in my entire life. There's never really been a question in my mind of whether or not the Church is true. Feelings and personal revelation aside, it just makes so much sense. The Plan of Salvation was created by our just and loving Heavenly Father and details what happened before this life, as well as what happens after. Everyone has a chance for redemption, a chance to hear and accept the Gospel-- even those who died without having the opportunity will hear about it in the after life and have the choice to accept it or not there. Every single person ever born on this earth will have an equal opportunity to be cleansed and return to live with our Heavenly Father once more. I know where I come from. I know what comes after I leave this mortal coil. And, if I live my life the way I should, doing my best to live righteously, I know my mother will be standing on the other side of the veil, waiting to greet me with open arms.

How I live my faith

I lead the music in one of the meetings in the Singles Branch, where I attend church every week. I only know the very basics of how to do it, but I try my best.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon was written by many different people, most of them prophets. It starts about 600 BC and goes to about 400 AD and was abridged one of the last prophets to write in it (Mormon, whom the book is named for) and his son (Moroni) (1000 years is a long time period to cover). It's basically a history book, much the same way that the Bible is. They recorded historical events (wars and such) as well as those with religious significance (miracles wrought by God through his servants). They also record the signs of Jesus birth on the American continent as well as that of his death. Furthermore, they contain an account of Christ visiting the Americas after he was resurrected and teaching the people there. When you get right down to it, this book is basically another testament of Jesus Christ, written most by ancient prophets. Show more Show less
