Hi I'm Brian

Born in California. Mixed origins - Samoa, Italy, Germany, Ireland, Wales. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of 6 children. I am married with 5 children -2 boys and 3 girls, one more on the way. My wife is a registered nurse at a nearby hospital. I have another son that lives in California. I enjoy coaching my oldest sons football team. I also like to play volleyball both at the church every week as well as some teams at the local recreation center. I am currently starting college (finally) at a community college in the hopes of transferring to a 4 yr university to be an engineer. So I will soon be working part time at my current job. I'm also just a big kid so I enjoy hanging with the little ones at the pool, going to the zoo or amusement parks, that kind of stuff. Our family also enjoys visiting the beach when we have opportunity since that is what we miss most about living in southern California.

Why I am a Mormon

I stopped going to church for a few years from about age 16/17 until I was about 23. Finally my wife, who was also less active, told me to get dressed one Sunday because we were going to church. My oldest daughter was going with her grandfather which was a great example to us. We went that Sunday and haven't stopped since. I am a Mormon because I received a testimony of the Book of Mormon after the late President Gordon B Hinkley's invitation to read the book and gain the witness for one's self. I truly believe that it is another witness of Jesus Christ and since it is true Joseph Smith was a prophet and so is Thomas Monson today. I'm grateful for the clarity that the Book of Mormon brings as well as the safety in following the prophet. I have come to know Jesus Christ and to love the atonement and that awesome gift of repentance. I am so grateful for the plan of salvation and for the patience that our Heavenly Father has had with me. Forgiveness is truly a miracle.

How I live my faith

I was just released as a ward (local) missionary. I enjoyed that calling as well as the visits with members who were struggling with their testimonies. I am currently a membership clerk so I get to greet new members in our congregation in order to keep records straight as well as some other duties. I also home teach a couple families which is an enjoyment for me as well. I love serving in the church since it reminds me that the Lord doesn't need me but rather he wants me. There is a place for everyone to serve. We have plenty of move ins/outs in our ward so we men are kept fairly busy.
