Hi I'm Jack

I live in Gilbert, AZ with my lovely wife of 38 years, Lorraine, and our toy schnauzer, Lexee.

About Me

I was born in Texas. My father was a pilot in the Air Force, so I grew up in several locations. We spent most of my youth in Texas, but we had the awesome experience of living in France for three years. And what made it extra special was that we didn't live on base, but we lived in a small town a few miles away where we rented a large two-story house next to a 500 year old chateau. I turned 8 while there so I was baptized in a public swimming pool in Paris. When my father retired in 1966, we moved to Arizona, because that is where both my parents grew up and we had lots of family here. I have been happily married for 38 years to my beautiful wife, Lorraine. We raised four children and currently have 12 grandchildren. I have been an air conditioning contractor for 31 years. I love camping, ATV riding, fishing, cooking, and gardening.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church, but the time comes when you have to find out for yourself if it's true or not. I applied the promise (extended to all) at the end of the Book of Mormon that says if you read the words on those special pages and then ask God if they are true, with real intent, that God will let us know they are true. I did that, and I know for myself that the Book of Mormon is another testament, along with the Bible, of the reality of a loving Heavenly Father and a Savior that loves us, knows us personally and individually, and that Jesus Christ lived and died for us. Having His Gospel in my life has helped me to be a better husband and father. It helped my wife and I in raising our four children by teaching them strong morals and character. By knowing and living His "Plan of Salvation" (or Plan of Happiness) the Church teaches us, we can be truly happy in today's world of confusion and strife.

How I live my faith

I have held many positions in the Church, but my current calling is as the Ward Clerk. I love this calling because it gives me the opportunity to work with many of the Ward leadership. They are all such good, strong people. It helps me to be strong by their example. I love being part of a "Ward family" where everyone loves and helps each other. I try to start each day with prayer. My wife and I read together from the scriptures and other uplifting books. Mostly I try to live each day with an appreciation for it, for the blessings of that day and for the gift that each moment of life is and for the memory it then becomes. Life is special and I feel the more we live life to the fullest, the more we show God we are grateful for it.
