Hi I'm Karen

I'm a wife and a mother. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I were both born and raised in Jefferson City, Missouri. We met, married, and raised our children there. He is a College Instructor and I am an RN. We moved to Arizona 18 years ago. At the time, our oldest son was in law school and our youngest son was at BYU and soon to leave on a church mission. So we decided to make a change, too. We love traveling, organic gardening, alternative medicine, volunteering with animal rescue organizations, outdoor activities, snorkeling and anything that involves a beach or the ocean. We are vegetarians and animal rights activists. We love nature and all the wonderful things Heavenly Father has created for us to enjoy and protect.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in the truthfulness of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a convert and have attended other churches. But then my brother was given a Book of Mormon by a friend and was baptized. He then began taking our oldest son to church with him. Soon our son was baptized and later my husband, youngest son, and I began taking lessons from the Missionaries. As I listened to their teachings and read the Book of Mormon, I felt as if these were truths that I had always known. I knew in my heart that this gospel was true and that the Book of Mormon was a true account given to us by the power of God and translated by the courage of Joseph Smith. I will be eternally grateful to my brother and my son for their wise persistence that the rest of the family listen to and hear the truth. I believe in the Plan of Happiness. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the best foundation for marriage and families. I am grateful to have a Prophet and other leaders of the church who give us wise counsel for everyday living. And I am so thankful for my wonderful husband and sons. I know that my husband and I are married not just for our time here, but for all Eternity. I am so happy to know that our family can be together forever, for all Eternity.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live each day so that I may return to my Heavenly Father with honor. Living gospel principles and obeying the commandments brings joy to my life. I try to give that joy to others by being of service to them and being a good example. I am a daughter of God and want to live righteously so that I may return to live with my family together in His presence.
