Hi I'm Pearl

I am a health nut, artist and musician. I love learning new things, working hard and being creative. I am Thai and I am a Mormon.

About Me

There is nothing I enjoy more than learning something new. It's invigorating! Understanding something you never before comprehended gives you this unique sensation of power, a feeling that stems from acquiring knowledge. It's a feeling of accomplishment, of growth and experience. Another enjoyment of mine revolves around music and art. I love singing. I have been apart of many advanced choirs and performed in a multitude of events ranging from school concerts to caroling to singing the National Anthem for sports. Although I don't plan on pursuing a degree in the arts, I do plan on continuing singing. Another one of my talents lies in drawing. I mainly focus on the human figure, but I experiment with different subjects as well as different mediums. And like earlier stated, I don't plan on majoring in the arts program even though I probably could. What I am pursuing is a degree in Dietetics. I love nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle. I am striving to become more diverse and creative in all that I do. I plan to do great things in the future and with God by my side, I know that anything and everything is possible.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the church, I like many, took it for granted. Until recently, I didn't quite comprehend the caliber of how blessed and privileged I was and am for the many true principles I have been surrounded by and taught all my life. Not too long ago, I started seeking out answers to all the questions I simply accepted to be true, never before did I ever truly study and ponder something out in my mind, for never before did I have a reason. But as I became involved with someone who questioned my beliefs and challenged my faith, I needed to know with a surety that what I had been taught all my life and what I had put so much faith in was indeed, true. What a blessing that was, it finally opened my eyes to all the spectacular answers and elements of truth the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints offers. I put to the test many things as I searched for truth, many times trying to find answers in other churches, relying on my own intelligence and the influence of the Spirit. I studied day and night, diligently seeking, questioning and most importantly praying to have the Spirit of God testify of truth. I became more familiar with the New Testament and Old as I feasted upon these words of Christ. I needed answers for myself and hoped to be able to answer others as well. Many nights I would stay awake into the wee hours of the morning discussing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, His ministry, His purpose and our potential as sons and daughters of a just and merciful Father in Heaven. I love His work, His gospel and I am so grateful to be a member of His church.

How I live my faith

I have two callings in the church right now. As a young women in my home ward I am the president of the 16-18 year old girls. I help plan events, work with my class on reaching out to less active girls and invite friends to activities. I also go to the Single Adult branch where I lead the congregation in music and find those with musical talent to share them with us as special musical numbers. Service is a huge part of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He showed us through his perfect example to serve and love unconditionally, to speak softly and work hard. I live my faith by striving to keep the commandments and being an example at all times and in all things and in all places.
