Hi I'm Sarah

I'm an engineer. I love being outdoors and playing sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm working as an acoustician and work with architects to design commercial buildings (schools, hospitals, etc.) with the appropriate acoustics. I love living in the Northwest and enjoying the mountains, bike paths and lakes. I enjoy hiking, biking, and camping, and playing basketball, ultimate frisbee, volleyball, and softball.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, so I've known the gospel my entire life. I continue to strive to follow the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ because living His teachings brings me happiness and helps me deal with hard times in my life. I am so grateful to know that I have a Heavenly Father who knows me personally and loves me unconditionally. I also find comfort in the plan of salvation and knowing that Heavenly Father has a plan for me - that I really can become more like Him, and make a difference in the lives of those around me. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I know I can repent and really change for the better. This gives me hope when I fall short, as I know that I can pray and receive help to improve my life.

How I live my faith

Currently, I help plan monthly activities for young single adults (ages 18-31) in the Seattle area. These activities help us meet other members living in the same area and gain strength from people who are living the gospel and are in a similar phase of life - students or working professionals living the gospel. These activities are also a great place to bring friends who are interested in learning more about the church, as they can meet lots of different members with a variety of interests and experiences. Also, I just returned from helping with a week-long camp for young women (ages 12-17). I worked mostly with 15-year old campers and learned so much as I watched them serve each other at camp and really pull together to have a great week. It was wonderful to hear their testimonies and experiences of living the gospel and have the opportunity to bear my testimony, too.
