Hi I'm Gary

I am a very lucky husband, father and grandfather. I'm an avid golfer, not good, just avid! I am a Mormon

About Me

I have been happily married for the past 39 years to best friend Darla. We have four sons, three daughter-in-laws and seven grandchildren. I can honestly say my family brings me happiness and joy that is most precious to me. I enjoy most sports and have spent much of my time coaching youth baseball, football and basketball. With four boys active in these sports it took up much of my time. Now I enjoy playing golf and am excited when the day comes I can be involved with my grandchildren's activities. I enjoy working with the youth of the church and the young single adults.

Why I am a Mormon

My family was baptised before I was eight years old and when I turned eight I was also baptised. So like many eight year olds I got baptised because my family did and I thought it was right. However through many of life's trials and experiences I have grown to know this is Christ's church here on the earth. I have come to know I have a Heavenly Father who knows me as an individual, loves me as a son and a Savior, Jesus Christ, that has make it possible for me to be forgiven for my trangressions through His atoning sacrifice. I know my family can be together after this earth life through the ordinances of the Priesthood restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I'm a Mormon because the Holy Ghost has testified to me the truthfulness of the restored gospel.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life being an example of a good husband and father, a honest man, a man that is charitable and lives a Christ centered life. This is obviously a work in progress and I have plenty of room for improvement but I am striving each day. I serve as a Bishop for a congregation of young single adults ages 18-31. It is most rewarding to see this great upcoming generation and be able to work with them. In addition to the bishop's responsibility I have families I get to visit each month and share a message with from the Presidency of the church. One of my favorite things to do is go to the temple where I can find peace and inspiration to live my life as Christ would have me.
