Hi I'm Kathleen

I'm a wife. I'm a mother. I'm a grandmother. I'm a student. I'm a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife, mother of 4, and grandmother of 2. I love my family. We have had many great years together and are still close, although we are spread all around the country. I love to ride my bike. Every year for the past 10 years I have trained and raised money to ride in the MS Bike Tours in 2 states to support the National MS Society. So far, I have ridden 10 century rides and raised thousands and thousands of dollars to find a cure for MS. After working in the computer industry for many years, I recently went back to school to earn a teaching certificate to teach high school mathematics so I can give back to the community. Now I teach math in an alternative high school. I am trying to make a difference in the lives of my students by treating them with patience, respect, and kindness.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon family, baptized when I was 8, and have been faithful my whole life. The church has taught me about Jesus Christ, His sacrifice for all mankind, and His love for me personally. Throughout my years as a Mormon, I have learned the plan of happiness, how to raise my family in love, and how to be with my family again after death. It's all about Christ, and the Mormon church teaches me all about Christ.

How I live my faith

I have had a variety of opportunities to serve people in my life and in my church. Christ taught that this life is all about helping other people. As a mother, I serve my family all the time. As a community member, I help out in schools and other service opportunities to help other people. In my church, I do many things that need to be done, never seeking for compensation. I spent many years as a youth leader, helping teenage girls learn morals, values and service. I also served as a teacher and a leader of women. For many years I served as a Cub Scout Den Leader, later working with some of the boys individually on their road to Eagle Scout. Sometimes I have helped harvest or can food for the poor and hungry. Currently I visit 3 women monthly in their homes to make sure they are doing ok. I was once a service missionary to help lead the Addiction Recovery Program and Family Support Group for people affected by addictions. I try to serve others because that's what Jesus would do. This is what I've been taught.
