Hi I'm Sloan

I'm a mother of four. I love traveling, photography, reading, and, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi my name is Sloan. I love to travel and have been to many countries and islands. We even had an opportunity to live in Okinawa, Japan for a year while my husband taught for the Dept. of Defense. I am a part time office assistant at the local elementary school and love spending time with my kids. Reading enhances my love of learning - not just everyday information but fun and unique facts. Most recently I've been reading books and blogs on health and nutrition, and just enrolled with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition to become a Health Coach. "Green smoothies" have become a delicious part of my life, and I enjoy eating whole foods (often "raw") and living a healthy well balanced life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because of the doctrines and truths which are taught. I know that Jesus Christ suffered much pain and temptations of all kinds, so that he would be able to understand each of us. He understands our joys as well as our sorrows, struggles, pains and temptations. He also sacrificed for each of us so we would be able to receive the free gift of resurrection. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, and that it confirms and clarifies doctrines found in the bible.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by making good choices, reading the scriptures daily and talking to my Heavenly Father on a daily basis through prayer. I serve in the young women's program in our congregation and absolutely love it! Both the young men and the young women are some of the strongest, most amazing youth. They are polite, happy, kind, and know how to do hard things. I also draw strength and increase my testimony each week as I go to the temple. I love to be in the temple. I love to feel peace and joy, and spend my time helping those who can't help themselves.
