Hi I'm Christie

I am an east-coast girl who ended up out west. I am a mom of 3 boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Life is good! After spending my childhood in the northeast I met and married my husband who is from the west. We moved around and spent time in Utah, California and Texas for my husbands schooling. We ended up in his hometown. I spend my days taking care of my children and family and longing for New England! After a six year gap our family was recently blessed with a beautiful baby boy who has brought us all a lot of joy!

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel of Jesus Christ as restored upon the earth today and taught in the Mormon faith brings peace, comfort and hope in a world full of confusion and self-gratification. Being a Mormon means that I know that I am a daughter of a literal Father in Heaven who knows me, cares for me, and wants what is best for me. It means that I know that if I live my life in a way that is pleasing to Him, I will be able to live with Him and with my family, to whom I am sealed, for eternity. There is no greater joy and peace on earth then having a plan, a purpose, and the roadmap of how to accomplish my goals- to be with my family and my Savior forever.

How I live my faith

Twice a week I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with the young women ages 12-18 who worship in my congregation. On Wednesday evenings we gather together for enriching activities such as learning a new skill (ex. baking, time management, crafting), service (ex. volunteering at a soup kitchen, child crisis center, help out a neighbor in need), or socialize and enjoy one another's company (ex. play volleyball, softball, games). The goal is for these activities to help us to become better: a better daughter, friend, community member, and ultimately a better daughter of God. On Sundays we gather together to study scriptures, talk about our struggles and uplift one another with discussions about the good news of the gospel. The youth I have the chance to work with are amazing! I also live my faith in my home with my own family on a daily basis...we pray together daily, study scriptures daily, have family activities as often as possible and set goals of how we can become disciples of Jesus Christ. We've set aside every Monday evening as family time where we focus on each other and the gospel and learning and growing together.
