Hi I'm Loren Gilson

I'm a Mormon. I was raised in North Idaho. I joined the LDS church when I was attending the University of Idaho.

About Me

I am an educator and am just beginning my 47th year.I received my four year degree from the University of Idaho where I also earned a master's degree. I received principals credentials from Eastern Washington University. I am principal of a small liberal arts high school serving about 36 students with a staff of seven. It is about twenty miles from my home where I live on a ten acre parcel with my wife of nearly 47 years. We are the parents of two children and the grandparents of four. While mu carcass is starting to show it's age I still enjoy woodworking and gardening but I find it hard to keep up. I serve in the church and love few things more than serving others. I am a High Priest group leader and have the privelege of working t=with as fine a group of men and exist anywhere.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a home where there was no religious training and no mention of God other than in swearwords. I think I was pretty lonley growing up and was introduced to the church when I was a junior in high school. I will always cherish those neighbors that cared for me. I went away to college and found myself again attracted to the church. I was fairly active until I was baptised and have found since then that the church and it's teachings have given me a light for my life. It is a way of life for me and while it allows me the freedom that I believe is the right of all men, it also gives me guidance and benchmarks to find my way. When my wife and I were raising our children the church provided association with other in the same boat and opf the same faith. It provided a social outlet for all of the family as well as spiritual guidance that made sense. My life is richer because I have embraced the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I treat all I come across as though I realize that they are God's children and it matters to Him how I treat them. I enjoy giving service and helping others to have a lighter load.
