Hi I'm Dan

I married my high school sweetheart and we have been married for 23 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a son to wonderful parents that have been married for almost 50 years. I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters. I have a wife that I have known since I was 14 years old and married her when we were 21 and we had our first child 18 months later. That baby girl just got married. I also have 4 sons. My oldest son is serving a mission in Fiji. I have 2 other sons in High School that love to play football and wrestle. My youngest son only lived for 4 months. He died from heart failure in October of 2000. A day doesn't go by when I don't think about him and the lessons we learned about life from him. I am a Regional Manager for an International company. I really enjoy watching sporting events, especially watching my sons compete in Baseball, football, wrestling and Rugby. I love to travel and have been to many places all over the world, but one of my favorite places is spending time at the family cabin in the mountains of Colorado.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon and I have always loved the feeling of belonging to something where you never feel alone. I love the direction it gives me in my life and my family. I love the hope it gives me that I know I will be with my family forever and I will see my son, Jace, again someday. I love the knowledge it gives me that Jesus is the Christ and he suffered and died for me. I know he was resurrected and that he lives today and that he will return. This knowledge helps me have hope in a world that isn't always easy to live in. I love the things I have learned to have a good marriage and a happy family. I know these blessing come from living the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love knowing that we are all children of a Heavenly Father that loves us and is aware of us. I love that I know how to pray and that prayers are answered. I have learned to serve other people and I love the way it makes me feel. Being a Mormon has made me a better husband, father, son, uncle and friend.

How I live my faith

I serve in the church. I have almost always worked with the youth. I love associating with these great young people and helping them reach their full potential. I have been involved with the Boy Scouts of America for a number of years and have served as a Scout Master, Varsity Coach and Venturing leader. I try to teach them life skills as well as how to live a spiritual life and serve other people. I serve as a Home Teacher, which means I have 3 families that I visit on a regular basis and help them with whatever I can. Most of the time it is just sharing a inspirational message, visiting and finding out what things are going on in their lives. Mostly just being a friend. As a father I try to teach my children by studying the scriptures and the life of Jesus Christ and trying to be more like him. Most of all I try to be a good example of what I have learned all my life. People should know I am a Mormon more by what I do than what I say.
