Hi I'm Tyler Smith

I'm a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

My name is Tyler and I was born and raised in Colorado. I have always been involved with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and went on a full-time mission to NY, NY and taught the Hispanic population there. I love my wife which I have known since middle school and we now have two boys as of 2008 and April of 2011. I work assisting people as a Vocational Counselor for the county I grew up in. I love to play the drums, and guitar. Also singing and dancing with my family to all sorts of music in our living-room or car is something we do for fun (and makes me laugh a lot). I went to college in a small town where my Dad got transferred to working for the railroad. Him and I had some good times living there for a year in a trailer park waiting for my Mom to sell the house back home. She never was able to and my Dad ended up moving back, leaving me there to finish an associates degree in Humanities. I came back home to live closer to my future wife and continue my education for a Bachelor's in Psychology. Although I have had difficult storms to weather as all of us do I feel I have been very blessed and thrive off the positive and optimistic side of life.

Why I am a Mormon

The miracles of the restored gospel are undeniable and when reading the Book of Mormon I marvel at that extraordinary manor this book came to be. Evidenced by the exquisite organization of the universe, I know that our Heavenly Father is a God of order and as such He has restored the authority and true doctrine to the earth that Christ organized while he was on the earth to guide his children back to Him eternally. Apart from the evidence that can be perceived though the physical senses, I have also experienced the great joy when living the principals of the gospel and the opposite when falling short of those principals. Heavenly Father loves all of his creations and just as I set rules and give guidance to my children out of love he has set up the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints out of love for all his children to take part in and benefit from. Our work should be the same as His, to bring all of His children back to live eternally with him once again. My greatest joy and ambition is to know my Savior and my Father in Heaven and be forever reunited with them and my loved ones, and that's "why I'm a Mormon."

How I live my faith

The foundation of faith for me is learning and doing God's will through the words of the prophets, personal revelation, continuous communication with Him, and learning and growing in the gospel with other people. Although I fall remarkably short of learning and doing God's will, the Savior fills the gaps with His eternal atonement if I do my part to change and have a pure desire to continue to progress.
