Hi I'm Roisin

I can ride a bike. I know how to laugh at myself. I believe life is better when you're living it and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I was raised in semi-country Australia but am now a city girl at heart. I lived in Brisbane for about 3 years and am now living near Tokyo. In the city there's just an energy that you can't get anywhere else. It makes me excited to get out of bed in the morning and see what the world has in store. I'm about to travel home from living in Tokyo for 18 months. It's been the best thing in my life. I love Japan, Japanese food, people and language. Japan is, and always has been, a huge part of my life. Meeting new people and spending time with old friends is one of the best things I could possibly do. Quality time is definitely a huge thing for me. Give me friends or family and an outing of some sorts and I am in heaven!

Why I am a Mormon

At the beginning of 2010 two Mormon missionaries stopped me on the street near my house. Shortly thereafter they began teaching me about the church. There were a few things that I didn't agree with at first, but I kept agreeing to see them. After a few weeks of having lessons I got to the stage where I felt like I needed to know whether the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was Christ's true church once again restored to the earth or not. After a particularly deep lesson with the missionaries, where I was planning on stopping lessons, I was reading the Book of Mormon and I felt the power of the Holy Ghost tell me that it was all true. From that point on there was no doubt in my mind that the church was true. After that I was baptised into the church and haven't looked back. Being a Mormon is the best thing that could have ever happened to me. I love every day of my life and I love having my life centered on Jesus Christ. Through him we really can be forgiven of all our sins and be made clean. I love that!

How I live my faith

Right now the way that I'm living my faith is by being a missionary. I go out everyday to tell the beautiful people of Japan about Jesus Christ. I love being able to teach people the basics about Christianity and seeing their lives change as they apply the teachings of Jesus Christ in their life. It is honestly the best thing I could be doing with my life right now. Before becoming a missionary I served in my church helping those who may need a little extra help, whether it be spiritually, financially or in just needing someone to talk to. I also was able to work alongside the missionaries which made my excitement to become a missionary even greater. I don't see myself as living my faith, I see my faith as my life.
