Hi I'm Dandy

I'm a Mormon, a mother, a daughter and sister, a great friend, and a lover of both dogs and cats.

About Me

My life is enriched by having a son as well as three grandchildren. In addition, I have three dogs who allow me to live in the house with them. I am blessed by many good friends. Those three things give me a wonderful life full of blessings.

Why I am a Mormon

As a youngster I heard in Sunday School in a protestant church that I attended that once Jesus died, God sent us no more prophets. I did not think that was right; He would not leave scores of generations without a prophet upon the earth. At the age of 30 I learned a little bit about the LDS church, and asked to be taught by their missionaries in my home. During their first visit they mentioned that their church has a living prophet who serves as the President of the Church. I immediately felt a little warm spot in the center of my chest. They had a Prophet! As the missionaries taught me more about the church over the next few weeks, that warm feeling spread and I knew for certain that what I was being taught was the Truth. About three months later I was baptized, and I have never regretted being a member of Heavenly Father's Church.

How I live my faith

Over the years I have taught children's Sunday School, have prepared the Sunday bulletin each week, and have served as a meeting house librarian among other things. Each month I also visit the women assigned to me as their visiting teacher. That is one of the wonderful programs of the Church. Each month I present a short lesson that the Church provides, and talk with each woman about her life, and try to help her in any way I can. We become friends, and I find that over time, we learn from each other and become better people. There are programs set up to enrich the lives of small children, adults and teenagers too, and opportunities to serve others are always available. I try to follow Jesus' teachings each day. The Church is the best thing in my life.
