Hi I'm Eden

I am a lover of knowledge, mom to 5 small, yet amazing children, a bishop's wife, and a disciple of Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am busy. Some days I see 4:30 am and midnight just accomplish everything. I work from home and so I get up extra early which allows me to spend most of my children's waking hours with them. It is a sacrifice I am willing to make. My daughters are 3 years and 8 months. They have lots of energy and creative juices which means I have to give them lots of personal attention or they are into everything they shouldn't be into. We like to get out and can often be found at the music makers, playgroup, the park, the pool, or running errands. My husband is a student and so at times we see very little of him. But there are times we get to enjoy him for a whole day. The best times are just being together as a family. To add to chaos, we are still in the middle of fixing up our first home and have been for the past 5 months. Soon (or at least I hope), the details will be done on the main floor and then we can move to the basement or yard.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but my freshman year at college I needed to know if I had a testimony. It seemed they everyone around me knew because they had to choose to live the higher standards that go along with church membership. I never had that kind of experience. After several thoughtful prayers my answer came, I did not have to face big decision to determine which road I would follow, but my testimony grew little by little as I actively particpated in church, prayed, and studied the scriptures. It is interesting now to look back on my life and see the tiny moments where Heavenly Father had guided me. I know that Jesus Christ lives and this is His true and living church.

How I live my faith

I am over the women in the church in our local area. What a responsibility! But the Lord was guiding me to prepare for this. I am always struggling with time management, but then I was directed to spend more time with the Lord. This included scripture study and more sincere prayer. The story of Mary and Martha in Luke 10:38-42 kept coming to mind "choose that good part." I was directed to choose the Lord and give Him His due time. When I am with Him I am in safe hands Prior to this assignment I taught the 3/4 year olds. I loved it. They have such excitement and love for the Savior Jesus Christ. The lessons were on the most basic of gosple principles. My favorite lessons to teach were on the creation. We spent 8 weeks going over the 7 days. Heavenly Father gave us a beautiful world becuase he loves us. All of this was created to make us happy. I am happy. I love my life. I love my family. But most importantly I love Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
