Hi I'm Laura

I'm an adrenaline addict, a lover of music, a handy-man, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a daughter of an electrician, but a lover of hands on work. I'm a sister to 9 others, but a friend to many. I am one to try new things, and I crave variety. I'm a lover of acoustic guitar, desert rain, hot summers, and people-watching. I have 6 sisters and STILL love to play Barbies. I am passionate about pizza, people, and places. I make mistakes daily, and fall into habits easily. I take time to think, reflect, and be myself. I love loud music, and the perfection of pure silence. I am a runner, swimmer, dare-devil and a survivor of double knee surgery. I am sensitive like my mum, motivated like my dad. I am the 7th child of 10, but protective like I'm the 1st. I do tile, wood, and roofs, but know piano, cello, and guitar. I'm a quiet listener and a loud-laugher. I have an Associates degree, but no idea what I want to do with it. I snowboard, hike, and explore the desert. I love life and live it every day. I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon, but that's not why I'm a Mormon today. Just like anyone else, I have agency and I have been able to make decisions throughout my life that have all accumulated into who, what, and where I am today. There are times, (some times long periods of time) where I have lost sight of WHO I was and where I was heading in life. My divine potential. BUT... Always. ALWAYS have I felt my Heavenly Father's constant hand guiding me through this life. Those feelings of His love and affirmation are what motivate me to move forward. To continue on in faith when my future seems only bleak and dark. I have felt His hand protect me in times of danger and in times of need. The closer I live following Jesus Christ, the better I feel, and the more I want to help others. I feel a sense of fulfillment, love, and joy being a member of Jesus Christ's church. I know I can be forgiven from my sins, live with my family forever, and help others along their journey as well. I also know there's a plan for ME. Specifically ME. I can't pinpoint a time when I came to know this was all true. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I have consistently done what God has asked me to do, and I have received His witness that this is where I need to be. RIGHT NOW. FOREVER.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by simply being myself. The people who have influenced me most in my life have always been the ones who are passionate about something. The ones who hold to what they know when everything else around them is changing. When passion and faith combine, you get conversion, service, and true charity. I live my faith by trying to be an example of Jesus Christ to others. I make mistakes often, but I find joy in serving others as He served us.
