Hi I'm Scott

I grew up on a ranch and have spent lots of time outside in this beautiful world that God has created and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised on a ranch and started riding horses when I was about 2 yrs. old. I spent every day growing up with my father and learned to work right along with him. He taught me many things about life that have helped me so much. One of his main desires was to help others in need. Many people have told me of times when he did something kind for them. I hope that I can be half the man that he was and hopefully make him proud of me. He taught me so many things about honesty and integrity by his example that I will always be grateful for. He passed away before I had children and I want them to know what a good man he was. Family was so important to him and knowing who my parents are and what they taught me and expect of me helps me to strive to be a better man, husband, father, friend myself.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and have always respected my parents and other good people for their teaching me the gospel. When I turned 19 years old I was asked to serve a 2 year mission for the church. This scared me a little because I realized that just because my parents beliefs were strong and unshakable, I needed to know for myself. I wasn't forced or pushed to serve a mission in any way. I did want to please my parents and especially my Heavenly Father. So I set out to find out for myself. I spent a lot of time reading and praying and the assurance just didn't come. Then one day I was talking to a man not of our faith and when he found out I was a Mormon, he began to attack my beliefs and the leaders of the church. When he finished, I told him that I knew that God lived, and that Jesus Christ is our Savior, and that he speaks today to Prophets just as he did anciently. I was shaking all over and tears were running down my cheeks and I thanked him for listening to me and left. The spirit that I felt at that time helped me know in my heart that the things I had been taught were true. After that I was able to serve a mission and testify to people of my beliefs. It was the first time in my life that I was able to spend every waking moment of every day in telling people about Jesus Christ. I have spent the rest of my life in the church and trying to teach my family of the things I know to be true. I am thankful for Jesus Christ and his teachings.

How I live my faith

I have served in many positions in the church and feel the most enjoyment when I am with the Youth. There were many men and women who helped me when I was young and needed a little direction. Now if I can do the same thing for someone else, it would make me very happy. When we are young and making the most important decisions in life, that is when we need the most wisdom and experience. So if I can help some of these young people when they need it, I enjoy it very much. But the most joy comes from my family. My children and grandchildren are the biggest joy in my life.
