Hi I'm Mike

I have a happy family life. I love to work hard and love to play when I have time. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married with three children. After seven years of marriage, my wife and I just bought our first house together. I feel like all of the time and money spent for an education has put us in a position to do the things we want to do in life. I consider having balance in life a high priority. Things like exercise and hard work are important to me. Ensuring that I teach my children good Christian principles is also very important to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for my whole life. I have been taught good Christian principles and have learned for myself that abiding by those principles brings the most fulfillment in life. I have lived in Brazil, Louisiana, California and the Midwest, and in each place I have lived, I have always had a place to go and people to call friends. I know that is because I have a Father in Heaven who watches over me and makes sure I am OK.

How I live my faith

I go to church each Sunday with my wife and children. Sometimes I help pass the sacrament to members of the congregation. My family and I also attend semi-annual conference meetings where we are taught by apostles and prophets of the Lord Jesus Christ. I am an assistant to the spiritual leader in Lincoln, Nebraska, and help in the administration of church government. I attend weekly Tuesday meetings where some of our church leaders meet to pray for the sick and afflicted, and plan ways they can tend to the needs of our church members, as well as the needs of those in the community. I also attend committee or council meetings with several other church leaders to talk about how we can strengthen our church members and help them to progress spiritually so they can have happy families. One of my friends and I visit three families each month to give a spiritual message and provide fellowship. We minister by becoming friends with them and making sure that we are there to help them when we are needed. I do my best to treat them like family members. I kneel in family prayer each night with my family. I pray with my wife each day, and I communicate with Heavenly Father throughout each day to seek guidance from Him. I study the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants or the Pearl of Great Price each day and read the scriptures with my family each night. We also enjoy gathering around the piano and singing hymns together. These things bring feelings of unity and peace into our home.
