Hi I'm Coy

I grew up in Arizona. I'm retired from the US Navy and from commercial nuclear power plants. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Coy. I'm married, the father of seven, grandfather of 20, and great-grandfather of 1. Life is great. I retired the second time five years ago and started looking around for things to do that were worthwhile and enjoyable. My first job (career US Navy) lasted 20 years and 7 months. None of my civilian jobs lasted more than 12 years but all were in the nuclear utility field.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young man I married a mormon girl. At that time I wasn't sure I believed in God, maybe he didn't exist. While holding a new-born daughter as she was being given a "name and a blessing" I physically felt something pass through me. That experience led me to re-examine my belief in God. Six months later I was baptized into the Mormon church, more accurately known as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Forty-two years later and I learned what it was taht I felt that day; I've also learned that God lives, Jesus lives, both are real and important to me and in my life.

How I live my faith

I have worked as a volunteer with the local county emergency management agency, I work in the Winter Quarters Temple. I try to maintain contact with people I meet during any activity. I'm now the Genealogy Coordinator for my surname national society. I have to opportunity to help make some modifications a friend and fellow church members home to allow him better access and mobility as he deals with a serious medical problem. I am not by nature an out-going person so visiting friends for the church helps me to get better at getting out of my "shell." I try to use Jesus' example to solve problems in my life.
