Hi I'm Edie

I grew up in Arizona. I'm a wife and mother of 8, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, a mother of 8 children, and a grandmother of 10. I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and I have been blessed to be able to be a stay-at- home mom since the arrival of my first child. I love doing anything involving my children - watching them play sports, perform in school plays, and sing around the piano, to name a few. I homeschooled all eight of my children during most of their elementary school years. I love sewing, reading, and being with my family!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon by loving parents. While I was young, I never doubted or questioned the church; it was easy for me to believe and have faith. One day I heard someone talking about how everyone needed to find out for themselves if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was true. I decided I needed to pray to know for myself. The answer didn’t come all at once, but it came gradually through different experiences until I realized that I knew the church was true. I am a Mormon still because I believe with all of my heart that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Jesus Christ’s church upon the earth today!! I love my Savior so much and am so very grateful for all that He has done for me - for the wonderful gift of the Atonement! I want to show Him how much I love Him by striving to follow His example, keeping His commandments, and trying to serve Him by serving those around me.

How I live my faith

When I was 14, the summer after my 9th grade year in school, my family was in a car accident. We were on our way to a wedding reception when a drunk driver ran a stop sign and broadsided our car. The impact was on my side of the car and my head hit the rear passenger window. The left side of my face was cut up pretty badly. I had two reconstructive surgeries and my left eye had to be removed; I was in intensive care for 10 days. While I was in the hospital I spent a lot of time praying. I knew my life was in my Heavenly Father’s hands and I promised Him, that if He would spare my life, I would dedicate my life to His service! I have tried to keep that promise. Sometimes I have done better than at other times; and now 42 years later, I am still trying to keep that promise! I try faithfully to attend all of my church meetings, to pray and study the scriptures daily, and to keep the Sabbath day holy. I try each day to follow my Savior’s example and do the things that I think He would want me to do. I am not perfect at this by any means, and I make lots and lots of mistakes; but thankfully I am able to repent and keep trying to do better each day because of my Savior’s Atonement. Words cannot truly express the love and gratitude I have in my heart for my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so grateful to them for giving me a wonderful life full of many rich blessings!
