Hi I'm Andy Witcher

I’m a happily married Texan, a proud father of 4, kill scorpions for a living in Arizona, and yes, I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to the most beautiful and amazing girl on the planet and have 4 wonderful children. I operate a pest management company that specializes in scorpion control primarily of the bark scorpion. I love helping protect families and their homes from dangerous pests and educating people on how to alleviate pest pressure on their home or business. I enjoy camping and hiking in the outdoors with my family. I love to travel to new places and try to return to Brazil, where I gave volunteer service as missionary for two years, and where I met my beautiful wife, as often as I can. I also enjoy sports, love watching and playing basketball and also have a blast participating sprint triathlons. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and plan to soon enter graduate school and earn an MBA or MS in Entomology.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I have seen the miracles in my life come from choosing to follow my Savior and joining His Church. Initially I chose to attend Church as a result of my parents encouragement but as is true in anyone’s life, one cannot live on borrowed light alone. I knew I had to find out for myself if the Church was true. I have studied the sacred scriptures found in the Bible and in the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I have read and listened to Church leaders and followed up by asking my Heavenly Father if these things were true. Time and time again I have received confirmation that this is Jesus Christ’s Church where I can receive all the necessary ordinances to return and live with Him, together with my family, forever. You may ask, well how do you know? It is difficult to capture in text the powerful feelings felt in my heart. I do know that when I have asked, I have felt feelings of peace, of happiness, and joy. These feelings are the Spirit, the third member of the Godhead, telling me that I have found the truth. I have since seen the hand of the Lord work miracles among the people in Brazil while I was blessed to be able to meet and teach people looking for answers to life's questions. I saw their life's change for the better as they chose to follow the Savior. I have also seen my family grow and be blessed as we have put God first in our lives. When I look into the eyes of my one year old daughter I can feel there is more to this life than just our earthly existence. There is a plan created by our loving Father in Heaven to prove ourselves in this life and return to live with Him!

How I live my faith

First and foremost I try to keep my priorities straight and be there for my family. I want to have the type of relationship with my children where they can always come to me with anything. I strive to build my life on the principles of trust and integrity and live in such a way to demonstrate my faith in Jesus Christ. I teach a class to the 12 and 13 year old youth in Church and prepare each week to help them learn how to strengthen their faith and face the challenges that will come during the week. I also serve as a volunteer on a board of directors for my industry association and well as an industry advisory council. In these roles I give of my time and talents to help other industry members and the public. I look for additional ways to serve others in my community and am active in the Scouting program.
